Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Central Railway Media Monitoring system (the "Service"), including its Android application, collects, uses, and protects information for its authorized staff users. The Service is an internal media-monitoring and rejoinder-management tool used by Central Railway staff and is not available for public registration.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, department, division, designation, and mobile number, provided by an administrator when your staff account is created.
- Profile photo: if set by an administrator, displayed within your profile.
- Login activity: session and login timestamps, used for security and audit purposes.
- Location (optional): if you grant location permission, your device's approximate or precise location is used only to center the Coverage Map and show your position relative to news coverage — it is not stored or shared.
- Content you create: messages, shared news items, and comments sent to colleagues within the app's Updates/chat feature.
- Uploaded media: newspaper clippings and related documents uploaded by staff for rejoinder tracking.
How We Use Information
- To authenticate staff and control access to the Service.
- To display media coverage, sentiment analytics, and coverage maps relevant to your division.
- To enable sharing of news items and internal communication between staff.
- To generate PDF reports of tracked news coverage.
- To maintain login/audit logs for security purposes.
Data Sharing
Information is used solely within the Service for internal Central Railway operations. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Central Railway, its staff, or the public.
Data Retention & Security
Data is retained for as long as your staff account remains active and as required for operational and record-keeping purposes. Reasonable technical and organizational measures — including session-based authentication and access controls — are used to protect information from unauthorized access.
App Permissions
- Location: used only while the Coverage Map screen is open, to show your position on the map.
- Storage: used to save downloaded PDF reports and shared files to your device.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting your system administrator or using the contact details below.
